Martha May Granger passed away peacefully early Wednesday morning, Jan. 29, 2014. She was 94 years old. Service: 11 a.m. Saturday in the chapel at Robertson Mueller Harper with the Rev. Dr. Bobby Wayne Cook of University Christian Church officiating. Following the service, she will be laid to rest next to her husband, Bill, in Greenwood Memorial Park. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, consideration of contributions to the Alzheimer's Foundation, in her memory, is suggested. Born in Wichita Falls on May 2, 1919, Martha was the daughter of Harry and Effie Irene Thomas May. She was married to William Henry "Bill" Granger, who died in 2001. Martha was a longtime member of University Christian Church. An active volunteer at her church and the Girl's Service League, she was a avid bridge player. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and sister, Nancy May Robinson. Survivors: In addition to her daughter, Sharon Granger Hoyle of San Antonio, Martha is survived by her son, William H. "Hank" Granger Jr. and his wife, Becky, of Southern Pines, N.C.; grandson, Michael Hoyle and his wife, Nina, of San Antonio, and their children, Madeline and William; and nieces and nephews and their families.
