Martin Arthur Pulliam Obituary
Martin Arthur Pulliam, 90, passed away peacefully to glory Tuesday, April 8, 2014. Graveside service: 11:30 a.m. Monday in Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery. Visitation: The family will receive friends 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Forest Ridge Funeral Home in Hurst. Arthur was born March 1, 1924, in Keller to Vivian and Almer Pulliam and moved to Fort Worth as a young boy. Arthur and his family lived on the north side in Fort Worth and he graduated from North Side High School. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. In his early years, Arthur worked in the cattle business and spent many years in the Fort Worth Stockyards. In later years he owned the Dairy Queen in Midlothian. Arthur was a lifelong Baptist and was a true gentleman who will be remembered by all who had the pleasure of knowing him as a kind man who was caring, giving and very generous. Survivors: His wife of 68 years, Toy Pulliam; daughter, Diane Stegall and her husband, Alvie, of Bedford; granddaughters, Jill Stegall of Dallas and Jennifer Dorough and her husband, Shane, of Fort Worth; the loves of his life, his great-grandchildren, Connor, Hayden and Mackenzie Dorough of Fort Worth; sister, Norma Duncan and her husband, Dub, of Mansfield; niece, Dana McConnell; nephew, Rick Duncan; and many friends.
