Dr. Fiederlein was born in New Jersey, the son of Frederick G. and Anna Kempf Fiederlein. He joined the U.S. Navy in April 1945. After World War II, he graduated from Bethany College in West Virginia and then from Yale University School of Medicine in 1954. He continued his medical education at Indiana University where he completed his internship and residency in neurology. He returned to active duty in the Air Force in 1978 and was stationed at Carswell Air Force Base. Dr. Fiederlein practiced medicine in Fort Worth, specializing in the treatment of headaches. He retired in 1997. Frederick was a longtime member of Holy Family Catholic Church and also supported the Fort Worth Ballet. He was an avid gardener and artist. A devoted family man, he was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Harriett Day Fiederlein. The family would like to thank the staff of Garden Terrace Nursing Home who lovingly cared for him as his health declined over the past year. Survivors: His children, Deborah Mitchell and husband, Paul, of Fort Worth, Pamela Fiederlein Campbell and husband, Sean, of Fort Worth, Suzanne Fiederlein and husband, Dave Pruett, of Harrisonburg, Va., Dr. John Fiederlein, M.D., and wife, Kathy, of West Lafayette, Ind., Robert Fiederlein and wife, Penny, of Houston, and Nancy Fiederlein McGuire and husband, John, of Dallas; sister, Ruth Andersen; grandchildren, Laura Mitchell, Connor and Erin Campbell, Elena Pruett-Fiederlein, Hannah and Walker Fiederlein, Olivia Fiederlein, and Jack and Max McGuire; and numerous nieces and nephews.
