I was looking for Coach Poda on the internet and just found out about his passing 5 years to late. Coach Poda was the best football coach i ever had in 11 years of playing organized football. I played for him on the Longhorns 74-75 Mid-Cities Pee Wee football Team. Still the best sports memories of my life to this day 44 years later. Rest in Peace Coach !!

Judy, Tyler and family, We just found out of Jerry's passing. Our prayers are with you. Jerry was a big part of many young men at an important time in their life and instilled confidence and character in them. My son Landon was greatly influenced in middle school with his guidance and is grateful that Jerry started him on a path that has now led him to play basketball at Yale. Judy and Tyler, we just learned of Jerry's passing and are so saddened. It's been 6 years since Preston played on the Longhorns team and it was one of the best and most fun baseball experiences we've ever had! My favorite memory of Jerry was when he would get so worked up and we would be in the stands telling him to "BREATHE"! You both are in our hearts and we wish you peace and comfort with many happy memories.

We're lifting your family up before the throne room of God may he strengthen you and grace you with peace and never-ending love. Coach Poda was a great example of a godly man and I will forever be greatful for the love shown to my family, I remember being in the hospital having my son the day of our consolation bowl,11/13/03, and you opened your home to my two boys to spend the night they had a blast. seeing him on the field year in and year out always brought a smile to my face. He was truly a blessing.

Jerry you are a great man. I remember all the basketball and football little league games in the 70s and beyond. I always came to you when I was not able to remember people from the past. So sad that you are gone. Easy person to talk to.

I was shocked and saddened to hear of Jerry's passing . I Just found out about the services today , my regrets for not being able to attend . Jerry was a client but most of all a dear friend , he will always have a special place in my heart . My thoughts & prayers are with his family .

Our son Scott had a deep respect for Coach Poda and appreciated his input and guidance towards his development as a player. I was deeply saddened when I heard the news that Jerry had passed. My thoughts and prayers go out to all of Jerry's family. I am grateful that I was able to meet and know Jerry through Mid-Cities Football over the past 8 years, he was a great man. Jerry was a kind, compassionate and dedicated man whom I'd only come to know over the last couple of years. He was always glad to spend some time chatting over LD Bell's football or band news (my daughter in band). He was especially proud of his son, Tyler. Jerry will be greatly missed. We are truly saddened by the news of Jerry's passing. Jerry became a friend through the fence industry and I never met a man more proud of his family. He especially loved to talk about Tyler and always enjoyed discussing a good ball game. Our prayers are with the Poda family and Jerry will be dearly missed.

I was shocked and saddened to learn of the passing of Mr. Poda this morning when I opened the papers. Jerry did all my fence work around my house on several different occasions. He was a very personable, friendly and professional businessman.

Dear Judy, Tyler and Family, words cannot express the saddness my family feels at this time. Coach Poda took my son in and embraced him at a low point during his early childhood. It was Coach Poda who restored my son's confidence, self esteem and who made the game of baseball fun again. Because of coach Poda, my son is the ball player he is today. Coach Poda took him in as a coach and showed him love as an individual. How can someone ever repay a man for being such a great individual. I get so emotional every time I think of you and how wonderful your family was to mine. I love you coach and I'm already missing you.
