Just thinking about you sweet Jonas!

Sarah Haack

October 16, 2013

Today marks 7 years since you were taken from everyone who loved and adored you. I remember when we went to the ranger game with Suman and her friend. We didn't watch much of the game because we were talking about our futures and the goals we wanted to reach. We went back to your house and your dog had torn up an entire package of tp! All everyone could do was laugh:) your laugh was contagious. I think of you always and hope your family and Suman are doing well.

Because our last names are close in the alphabet, Jonas sat directly behind me in most classes from 7th to 12th grade. We picked on each other like siblings, got in trouble together several times for talking in class and ultimately became friends. I saw Jonas and Keith out many nights after high school and he was always the same old Jonas, goofy, happy and kind. I am so sorry for your loss and his untimley death. I pray that God will embrace you with His grace and love during this difficult time. Jonas will remain in my heart and Suman and family will remain in my prayers. God bless you all!

I was Jonas' Latin teacher at Paschal High School, where I had the privilege of teaching him all four years of his high school career. October 22, 2006

I am so deeply saddened by the turn of events that took this young man in the prime of his life. Though justice will prevail it will not bring Jonas back. You do have all your wonderful memories and NO one can take those away from you. I did not have the privilage of knowing Jonas but from reading all these entries I know he was a wonderful person. This world is a better place for having him here for 28 years and a sadder place now that he is gone. I hope his family will consider doing a website in memory of their son and husband. Let the rest of the world know what a wonderful man he was through pictures and stories.

He was the best friend that I've had or will ever have. God bless him, and God bless you all.

Dearest Judy, Glen, Suman and family,
You know my prayers and love are with you. Judy, my wonderful friend of so many years, I'm holding you closely to my heart.
Nice things are often said about a person, after they leave this world.In Jonas's case they are true.
I was in the fortunate position of being present at Jonas's birth , of seeing Judy and Glen welcome him to this world with such total love, joy and commitment.
He was a remarkably gentle, kind and sweet soul from day one, and with the loving, mature care and guidance of his parents, those qualities continued to shine through.
I know he is in the loving care of the Lord who hears our prayers.
With love and deepest sympathy,
Althea Crosby Bosworth

May we be filled with joy in our hearts knowing that he is watching over us from Heaven.

Be Still

Be still like the grass on a melancholy summer day
Be still like desert shrub.

Be calm and you will hear your loved one speak, in the stillness, in the calm, their love resounds.

If you are still this promise I make, you will hear the voice of your loved one helping you along your way.

Do not stand at my grave and weep;
I am not there. I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow;
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripen grain;
I am the gentle autumn's rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush,
I am the swift uplifting rush
of quiet birds in circle flight.
I am the soft star that shines at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry.
I am not there;
I did not die.

This poem gave me comfort in a time of sorrow. I pray it will you too.

We are so very sorry for the loss of your precious Jonas. We can both recall vividly the pride with which Glenn spoke of his only son and beautiful wife, Suman. Know that the entire Cherry family is loved, prayed for and thought of often in our home. Look to the Lord to see you through until the glorious day you will be reunited with Jonas in Heaven.
