James Patrick Logsdon

Logsdon James Patrick Logsdon, age 67, died Thursday, March 30, 2017. He was born in Columbus, Ohio to the late James M. Logsdon and Mary Catherine (Irwin) Logsdon. Survived by his wife and best friend of 45 years, Kathleen (Ryan) Logsdon; his daughter Katherine (Brian) Mitchell, son Paul Logsdon, grandson Frederick Mitchell, sisters Mary Ann (Patrick) Salcone and Catherine Logsdon; brother Mark (Kristin) Logsdon, brothers-in-law Keary Ryan, Kevin (Jody) Ryan and sister-in-law Denise (Pat) Brady and cousins, nieces, nephews and dear friends who supported him during the final phase of his life. Preceded in death by his parents, father-in-law Paul A. Ryan, mother-in-law M. Eugenia (Feist) Ryan and brother-in-law Michael Ryan. Jim attended Bishop Watterson High School and Northwestern University. He retired from the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio. Everyone who knew Jim knew that he had a working knowledge of everything from the periodic table to building houses. We will miss his encyclopedic intelligence, generous spirit and eagerness to reach out to anyone that needed help. He loved his family and friends, learning and nature and his life was a reflection of that.
