Freedman Dorothy J. Freedman, age 90, passed away on March 5, 2015. Preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Jennie Jacobs and brother Albert Jacobs. Survived by her husband of 71 years, Robert Freedman; son, Jeff (Pamela) Freedman; daughter, Cheri Freedman; grandchildren, Jacob Freedman, Julie (Brett) Waters and Adam (Jenny) Hoffman; great grandchildren, Zac and Ben Waters and Haley and Gabe Hoffman. Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, March 9 at THE EPSTEIN MEMORIAL CHAPEL, 3232 E. Main St. with Rabbi Mitchell Levine officiating. Interment will follow at New Agudas Achim Cemetery. Shiva will be observed at the Freedman residence on Monday and Tuesday evenings with Minyan at 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donation are preferred to The James Cancer Hospital at Ohio State University in her memory. Gaither, Richard Clair  
Gaither Richard Clair Gaither, age 83, of Dublin passed away Wednesday, March 4, 2015 at Sanctuary at Tuttle Crossing. Born April 22, 1931 in North Lima, Ohio. He retired from Select Sires, Plain City maintenance department after 20 years of service. He was an active member of the Senior Citizens of Hilliard, Dublin and Amlin. Preceded in death by parents Nobel and Mabel (Haas) Gaither, loving wife of 58 years Esther (Hough) Gaither, 2014, son Charles L. Smith, daughter-in-law Gracie Smith. Survived by children, Richard (Sandra) Gaither, Sr., Arlene (Edward) Peterson, William H Smith; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; brother,: Robert Gaither; sister, Geraldine Neely. Gallagan, Patrica Lynn "Pat"  
Gallagan Patrica "Pat" Lynn Gallagan, passed away suddenly February 28, 2015. Preceded in death by beloved parents Ted and Margene Gallagan. Survived by loving sisters, Teri (Mark) Horning, Barbara Gallagan and Sharon (Ken) Springer; much loved niece, Shannon Springer; much loved nephews, Lucas Gallagan, Stephen and Mathew Horning, Criss and Austin Loew; four grand-nieces; one grand-nephew; numerous cousins and aunts. As per Pat's wishes, there will be no viewing. A celebration of Pat's life will be held Saturday, March 7, at the Vineyard Christian Church, 1055 Mcnaughten Road, Reynoldsburg, OH. Gilliland Paul E. Gilliland, age 68, passed away March 4, 2015 at home. He was an avid Buckeye fan, and above all, a devoted father, grandfather, and uncle. Givens, Thelma J.  
Givens Thelma J. Givens, 84, went home peacefully to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 28, 2015 at Grant Medical Center. Thelma earned two degrees from The Ohio State University. Her professional calling was fulfilled as a teacher, and later as an administrator with Columbus Public Schools. She retired from this post in 1985. As a world traveler Thelma visited England, France, Ethiopia, Tanzania, Kenya, Thailand, Bermuda, Australia, to name a few. She also studied at Columbia and Notre Dame. Thelma was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc., and Pi Lambda Theta Honor Society. She loved the English language, history, Broadway musicals, and nature. Throughout her life she was an avid reader with a lifetime love for learning. Predeceased by parents Henry L. and Emma C. Jemison, sister Erma (Chester) Mayo, nephew Michael Mayo and son-in-law Harlin Goins. Survived by loving daughter, Sylvia Givens-Moore; granddaughter, Gabrielle Moore; sisters, Mary "Delores" Goins, and Barbara (Richard) Kelsey; many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Goodwin, Nancy M. - West Hartford  
Goodwin Nancy M. Goodwin, 83, of West Hartford, CT, formerly of Columbus, OH and Wilmington, DE, died Sunday, March 1, 2015. She was the wife of the late Reverend A. Murray Goodwin. Born in Toledo, OH, the daughter of the late William M. and Mildred (Harrison) Myler, Nancy grew up in Ohio and graduated from the Oberlin Conservatory of Music in 1953. She and Murray married that year and moved to Massachusetts while Murray pursued his divinity degree and later a position in Belmont. In 1964, they moved to West Hartford and began to raise a family. Nancy taught piano for many years and, when children got older, started a stamp collecting business and was an assistant manager at McDonald's Restaurant. In 1982, they moved to Wilmington, DE. Nancy continued teaching piano while Murray performed interim ministerial work. They returned to West Hartford in 2008 and Murray died that summer after 55 years of marriage. Nancy enjoyed playing piano her entire life. She was an avid gardener in her early years. She loved music, and enjoyed attending concerts and the Hartford Symphony into her eighties. Nancy is survived by two children, her daughter, Glenda Cova, her husband, Anthony, and their children, Michael and Ryan, all of West Hartford; and her son, Andrew M. Goodwin of Newark, Delaware. She also leaves her sister, Eleanor Botkin of Houston, TX; and her nieces and nephew. A private family service will be held at a later date. Grandstaff, Barbara Jane  
Grandstaff Barbara Jane Grandstaff, age 78, of Centerburg, passed away unexpectedly at her residence Friday, March 6, 2015. She was born August 10, 1936, in Croton to the late Newton and Weltha (Downing) Conard. A 1954 graduate of Johnstown-Monroe High School, Barbara went on to marry the love of her life, Robert Grandstaff on September 1, 1962. Together they were members of the Centerburg Church of Christ. Barbara enjoyed playing the piano and gardening. She also enjoyed genealogy and participation in the DAR. She loved to travel with her husband and sons, but most of all loved being a grandma to her nine beautiful grandchildren. She is survived by her husband, Robert; sons, Bradley (Brenda) Grandstaff of Centerburg, Brian (Sarah) Grandstaff of Winter park, Florida; brothers, William (Brenda) Conard of Johnstown, Thomas (Suzi) Conard of Newark, Larry (Barbara) Conard of Johnstown; sisters, Betty (Lynn) Harfeild of Centerburg, Sue (Charles) Weeks of Johnstown; grandchildren, Jacob, Nathan, Lydia, Luke, Lauren, Emily, Kiley, Kate and Ashley; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday at Centerburg Church of Christ, 3830 Columbus Road, Centerburg, where a funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday with Pastors Roger Crego and Daryn Dawes officiating. Greeler Richard Greeler, age 61, of Lithopolis, OH, died on March 4, 2015. He was born on July 5, 1953 to the late DuWayne and Nola Greeler. Richard was a member of the Sons of American Legion. He worked as a carpenter for 40 years. Richard loved to fish and watch the birds. Preceded in death by his brother Gary Greeler. Gunnell, Phyllis Anne Burke - Groveport  
Gunnell Phyllis Anne Burke Gunnell, of Groveport, OH, passed away on Monday, March 2, 2015 in Lancaster, OH. She was born on June 16, 1932 in Paintsville, KY to the late Den and Ella (Travis) Burke. Phyllis is preceded in death by her parents, husband Herbert Gunnell and brother Jack Douglas Burke. She is survived by her children, Debbie Duffey, Jan Mathews, Lynne (Dan) Cooper, Dennis Gunnell, and Doug (Lisa) Gunnell; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Juda Burke, Audrey Gunnell, Margie Gunnell, Ann Gunnell, and Martella Gunnell; nieces, nephews, and many dear friends. Phyllis retired from Schottensteins in Columbus, OH after 15 years of service. Phyllis loved her family very much, especially the babies. She will be truly missed by all that knew her. Hadley Jr., Benjamin Franklin - Columbus  
Hadley Benjamin Franklin Hadley, Jr., died on February 23, 2015. Ben was born in Columbus, Ohio on February 6, 1930 to the late Katherine Gilmore Hadley and Benjamin Franklin Hadley, Sr. He graduated from Upper Arlington High School in 1948 and Dartmouth College (Phi Beta Kappa) in 1952, and earned his MBA from the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School of Business in 1953. He served in the US Navy from 1953-56, earning the China Services Medal and the National Defense Service medal, retiring from the Navy Reserve in 1968. Ben was a general agent with Columbus Mutual Life Insurance, he partnered with his brother, Bob in Hadley Associates, he was a life member of the insurance industry's Million Dollar Round Table, president of Columbus Chapter CLU and a 1985 CLU of the Year. He served as president of the Upper Arlington Board of Education and Chair of the United Way Budget Committee. Ben was an active tennis player, fisherman and skier, sharing his love of the outdoors with his friends and family through camping trips and his home in Snowmass Village, Colorado. He sang in Vaud Villities for thirty years. President of the Zanesfield Rod and Gun Club, he also enjoyed membership in the Athletic Club, Scioto and Columbus County Clubs. Ben grew up at First Congregational Church, raised his children at First Community Church, and joined Broad Street Presbyterian Church 36 years ago. Ben is survived by his wife, Lydia; his brother, William C. Hadley (Paulette) of Treasure Island, FL; his children, Kit Hadley (Cynthia Fay) of St. Paul, MN, Susan Hadley (Bradley Sowash) of Worthington, OH, Scott Hadley (Lisa) of Burlington, VT and Lynne Hadley of Tunbridge, VT; his step-children, Lucia Weihe of Columbus, OH, John Detrick (Jennifer) of Flagstaff, AZ, Sam Detrick (Audrey) of Boulder, CO and Andrew Detrick (Elizabeth) of Snowmass Village, CO; his grandchildren, Bryn Sowash, Molly Sowash, Chris Shearer, Emily Bombard, and Ben Hadley; and his step-grandchildren, Gordon Magne, Georgiana Weihe, Forrest Weihe, Erika Detrick, A.J. Derick, and Alex Pere. The family is grateful to the staff at Roxbury Cottages at First Community Village for their compassionate care.
