Tanner, Evelyn A. (Heinz)  
Tanner Evelyn A. Tanner (Heinz), age 94, passed away peacefully at St. Thomas Mid-Town Hospital, Nashville, TN, Saturday, January 24, 2015. Evelyn was a lifelong resident of German Village and lifetime member of St. Mary's Church. She was a 1937 graduate of St. Mary's High School. She was a vibrant, energetic person who was always upbeat, singing and dancing and always smiling. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grand-mother. Her greatest joy and legacy was her family and she will be deeply missed by all. Preceded in death by mother and father Anna and Frank Heinz, sisters Marie, Anna and Louise, brothers Frank and Tony, husbands Joe and Paul, son Joe, grandson Donny, great grandchildren Nehemiah Jefferson, Jillian Hammond and Joey Skaggs. Survived by daughters, Linda (Don) Sharp, Janet (Phil) Hammond, Mary (Hubert) Bolte, Terri (George) Ogden; and son, John (Tracy) Tanner; 16 grandchildren, two great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. Family will receive friends Friday, January 30 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at MAEDER-QUINT-TIBERI FUNERAL HOME, 1068 S. High St. Mass of Christian Burial 10 a.m. Saturday, January 31, at St. Mary's Church, 684 S. Third Street. Burial at St. Joseph Cemetery. Thomas, Alma L. (Day)  
Thomas Alma L. (Day) Thomas was born on May 1, 1927 in Dayton, Ohio and passed away on January 27, 2015 in Cincinnati, Ohio. A proud co-owner of Richard's Carry-Out for 22 years. Preceded in death by her parents Julia and Elmer B. Day, husband Richard E. Thomas, Jr., granddaughter Lisa M. Porter, great-granddaughter Hadeyah Porter, brothers Robert and James Day, sister Jessie M. (Clark) Williams. She leaves to cherish her memory, daughter, Leslie Porter; son, Richard E. Thomas, III; four grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, other relatives, and many friends. Funeral 1 p.m. on Monday, February 2, 2015 in the chapel of C. D. WHITE & SON FUNERAL HOME, 1217 Mt. Vernon Ave., where the family will receive friends from 12Noon until the time of service. Rev. Dr. Charles E. Booth, Officiant. Interment Glen Rest Memorial Estate.

Turkelson, Lynn "Turk"  
Turkelson Lynn "Turk" Turkelson, 87, of Columbus, passed away Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at Riverside Methodist Hospital. He was born December 2, 1927 in Kenosha, WI, son of the late Harold and Agnes Shepard Turkelson. Before Turk served in the Air Force during the Korean Conflict, he attended the University of Wisconsin. Turk began his career in sales at McWhite in Kenosha and moved on to McJunkin Corp. in West Virginia and Ohio. On the golf course with friends is where Turk loved to spend his leisure time. A strong amateur golfer, he won many Club and Senior Championships most recently at Brookside Country Club. He is survived by his wife, Beverly Bromley Turkelson; son, Mark (Chip) Turkelson; daughters, Ellen Turkelson and Carole Castleberry; sister, Nancy Long; grandsons, Bryan (Katie) Turkelson, Jeffrey Turkelson and Kenneth Castleberry. Arrangements have been entrusted to NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME NE CHAPEL, 3047 E. Dublin-Granville Rd., Columbus. Burial will be in Kenosha, WI.

V., William Henry Mead - Columbus  
Mead V William Henry Mead V, age 79, of Hinckley, Ohio and formerly a resident of Pataskala and Columbus, died Monday, January 26, 2015 at the Cleveland Clinic. He was born March 5, 1935 in Youngstown, OH, the son of the late William Henry IV and Herma Cynthia (Welsh) Mead. William had a long and satisfying career in commercial construction taking him to many states in various positions and companies, finally retiring as Director Commercial Construction for Mid Ohio Development Co. A devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, his family was most important to him. He will be dearly missed by his wife of 57 years, Joanne (Thorley) Mead; children, Sharon (Gregg) Steele, William Henry (Nancy) Mead VI, Lisa L Mead (Christine Doherty), and Chad A. (Robin) Mead; eight beloved grandchildren and two great grandchildren; other relatives and many friends. Besides his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his sister Laura Louise Billups. Bill was a member of Upper Arlington Lutheran Church. Memorial Service will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, February 5, 2015 at Upper Arlington Lutheran Church, 2300 Lytham Road, Columbus, OH 43220 with Pastor Paul Ulring officiating. Family will receive friends at a reception at the church immediately following the service. Private interment Pataskala Cemetery. Walker Nancy G. Walker, of Columbus, OH and owner of Nan Walker Upholstery with over 25 years of service. August 26, 1954 - January 26, 2015. Preceded in death by parents Ruby Yeager and Edward Walker. Survived by loved ones, Dick Biggs of 26 years; cousins, Sue and Bill Lowe, Jason, Hana and Jenna Lowe, Stacey Lowe and Jason Patterson; best friend, Maryellen Thompson. Graduated from Cuyahoga Falls High School, Class of 1972. Completed her Art Major from The University of Akron. She was a longtime employee of Cio's Restaurant. Her signature craft was embedded in the excellent talent and skilled artwork of her upholstery. Nancy will be sadly missed. A private memorial service will be held in her honor. Wechsler Oscar Wechsler, age 88, passed away on January 28, 2015. Preceded in death by his parents Solomon and Chana Wechsler, wife Jean Wechsler, brother Erno Wechsler. He is survived by his cousins, Alice Klein and Gabor Klein. Oscar fought for Israel in the 1948 War of Independence. Weiser, Martha I. - Canal Winchester  
Weiser Martha I. Weiser, age 89, of Canal Winchester, OH, died on January 27, 2015. She was born on March 14, 1925 in Logan, OH to the late Virgil and Mary Stout. Martha enjoyed spending time with her family, gardening and being outdoors. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Bill Weiser, son Randy Wright, siblings Margaret, John, Patty, Bill and Tom. Survivors include her children, Ken (Marcy) Wright, Craig "Sandy" (Danielle) Wright, Jeff (Nora) Wright and Don (Pam) Wright; daughter-in-law, Joanne Wright; 14 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; siblings, Jack, Joe, Betty, Sue, Katherine and Dorothy; and numerous nieces and nephews. Wesemeyer, Ruth Clara (Bartter)  
Wesemeyer Ruth Clara (Bartter) Wesemeyer passed away on January 22, 2015 at the age of 91. She was born July 9, 1923 and grew up on the family farm in Columbia Station, Ohio. She graduated from The Ohio State University in 1945 and on November 10, 1945 married Richard Wesemeyer (who predeceased her). For 27 years she was a school teacher in the Midview School System. Ruth lived in Grafton, OH for over 40 years, and after retirement moved to Naples, Florida, returning to Ohio each summer to visit her family and to attend the Chautauqua Institute at Lakeside, Ohio. In 2011 she moved to Wesley Glen Retirement Community in Columbus. Ruth is survived by brothers, Rowland Bartter of Naples, FL and Charles Bartter of Berea, OH; and by her sister, Helen Crocker of Bowling Green, KY; daughters, Susan Pumplin and Linda Pearce, both of Columbia, MD; son, Richard Wesemeyer of Grafton, OH; daughter, Wendy Wesemeyer of Columbus, OH; and son, Carl Wesemeyer of Grafton, OH; grandchildren, Elizabeth Steffke (deceased), Matthew and Timothy Pumplin, James and Susannah Pearce, Scott and Todd Wesemeyer, Kelly Wysocki, Jen Cheslik, Candice Vander Weerdt and Carlene Wesemeyer; great-grandchildren, Emily, Hannah and Madeline Steffke, Story Pumplin, Carson and Graeme Pearce, Ricki, Stanley and Eli Wesemeyer, Jasmine and Daisy Wesemeyer, Morgan and Chelsea Wysocki, Nora Cheslik, and Colin Vander Weerdt. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, February 7th at 2 p.m. at the Wesley Glen Retirement Community.
