Arthur E. Saiter

Saiter Arthur E. Saiter, age 88, passed away August 30, 2013 at Sterling House of Westerville. He was born August 4, 1925 in Marion, Ohio to the late Clarence and Carrie (Steele) Saiter also preceded in death by sister Donna (Ben) Lyon. Art attended Marion High School until the time he was drafted into the U.S. Army. He served in Normandy, North France and Rhineland and was a Purple Heart recipient. He attended vocational school in Chicago and retired from Abex Engineering. Art was an amateur radio enthusiast (WA8ATS), an accomplished photographer and played the trombone. He is survived by his beautiful bride of 67 years, Violet (Sisson) Saiter; sons, Gregory (Sheila), Michael, Randall (Sue) and Terry; grandchildren, Wendy (Gary) Bailey, Brent (Fiona) and Rachel Saiter; great-grandchildren, Christopher Bunker, Chelsea and Garrett Bailey, Maia and Sydni Saiter; great-great-grandchild Samuel Bunker; brother, James (Lee) Saiter; sister-in-law Nellie Gorenflo; extended family and friends. Visitation will be held 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, September 3, 2013 and funeral service 10 a.m. Wednesday, September 4, 2013 at SCHOEDINGER NORTH CHAPEL, 5554 Karl Rd., Columbus, OH 43229; interment to follow at Marion Cemetery.
