MUDROCK Bernard J. Mudrock, age 79, of Upper Arlington, passed away on January 7, 2013. He was born in Lorain, OH on March 23, 1933 to the late Joseph and Elizabeth (Urban) Mudrock. Bernie was also preceded in death by brothers, Jack and Richard Mudrock. Bernard is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Doris; daughters, Lori (Brett) Gundlach and Libby McGlone; and grandchildren, Andrew and Judith Gundlach and Megan and Matthew McGlone. Bernie received his undergraduate degrees from The Ohio State University
earning both a B.A. and B.SC. degree as well as his Master's Degree in Educational Administration. Bernie began his career teaching sixth grade in Upper Arlington. He was then Principal in several schools before he was Assistant Superintendent at Nordonia Hills school system. He earned his Doctorate from Akron University in Educational Administration. Bernie retired as Superintendent of Chagrin Falls Schools. Bernie was proud to carry the 1996 Olympic
torch as it passed through Columbus on its way to Atlanta. He was an enthusiastic supporter of The Ohio State University. Bernie was a member of The Presidents Club, lifetime member of the Alumni Association and a member of the Faculty Club. He retained his love of history and valued his continuing relationship with the Ohio State Department of History. He was also an avid Buckeye fan, holding season tickets since 1950. Bernie was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
