Carol (Spiezio) Rako

Rako Carol J. Rako née Spiezio, 67, passed away March 14, 2013 at home in New Albany. Born February 18, 1946 in Youngstown, Ohio to Gabriel and Mary (Carney) Spiezio, the third of four children. After graduating Woodrow Wilson High School in 1964 as valedictorian, she earned a BS from Youngstown State and two MA degrees from The Ohio State University. Retired math teacher from Columbus Public Schools. She was a devout Catholic. Survived by husband of 47 years, Daniel P Rako; son, Daniel E (Jill) Rako; daughters, Lori Rako and Jennifer (David) Fry; siblings, Edward (Bonita), Mary Ann, and Louis Spiezio; and grandchildren, Morgan, Daniel P II, and Claire Rako, and Aiden Rako-Ables. Memorial Mass 4 p.m. Monday, March 18 at Church of the Resurrection, 6300 E Dublin-Granville Rd., New Albany.
