Charles F. "Fred" Aured

Aured Charles F. "Fred" Aured, longtime Worthington resident, passed away Thursday, January 9, 2014. Fred was a 1952 Graduate of North High School in Columbus and a 1957 graduate of The Ohio State University where he earned his BME, and was a member of Delta Sigma Phi Fraternity. Son of the late Rudolph and Marguerite Aured formerly of Columbus, OH. Also preceded in death by granddaughter Marissa Joslin and brother Ervin "Lee" Aured of Birmingham, AL. Survived by wife, Sandra S nee Workman married for 57 years. Fred and Sandy met as students at Ohio State University. Fred's career started with Standard Oil of Ohio and took him to Cleveland Ohio and ultimately back to Columbus where he founded Panels, Inc. in 1960, a design and manufacturer of industrial control systems. Also survived by his three daughters, Karen (Scott) Joslin of Columbus, Brenda (Jim) Pokorny of Chagrin Falls, OH and Gretchen (Scott) Gordon of Worthington; and grandchildren, Charlie, Devon and Mitchell Joslin, Matthew, Michael and Andrew Pokorny, and Kendall and Danny Gordon. After retirement he developed a widely known custom golf club fitting business as an extension of his lifelong love of golf. He was a sports car enthusiast, an amateur photographer, a world-class tinkerer, and was not only an Eagle Scout but also a Boy Scout merit badge advisor. Visiting Hours will be from 2-4:30, Sunday, January 12, 2014 at SCHOEDINGER WORTHINGTON CHAPEL, 6699 N.
