WILL Charles G. Will, 85, died January 2, 2013. He was the only son of the late Charles Clark and Annette Groce Will. Mr. Will graduated from Circleville High School in 1945 and from The Ohio State University
in 1949 and 1954. He also attended Mexico City College and the University of Birmingham (England). A veteran of World War II
, he served in Germany in the IX Air Force Service Command. In 1949, Mr. Will began a 35-year teaching career, first at Jackson Township High School in Pickaway County. While there he served as president of the Parent-Teacher Organization. In 1945/1955, he taught in Springfield (Ohio) High School. In 1955, he joined the faculty of Upper Arlington High School, where he very happily taught English for 29 years. He was Coordinator of the English Language Arts Program, K-12 and served a term as president of the Upper Arlington Education Association. He retired in 1984. In 2006, he was a member of the first class inducted into the Upper Arlington High School Teachers
' Hall of Fame. A lifelong resident of Circleville, for 30 years he maintained a second home in Upper Arlington. Mr. Will was a life member of the following organizations: The Ohio State University Alumni Association (president of the Pickaway County Chapter), The Ohio Education Association, The Ohio Council Teachers of English Language Arts (president), Upper Arlington Civic Association, Upper Arlington Booster Club, Circleville High School Alumni Association, Ohio and Pickaway County Retired Teachers' Associations, Friends of the Pickaway County District Public Library, the Pickaway County Historical Society (president), Circleville Lodge #77 BPO +Elks, serving as Exalted Ruler 1954/1955. Mr. Will was a trustee of the Pickaway County District Public Library 1985-1995. He also served on the following boards: the Upper Arlington Education Foundation (Trustee), the Pickaway County Community Foundation (charter Trustee), the Scioto Society (producers of Tecumseh!), Haven House Advisory Board, Review Board of the Circleville Historic District (Chairman), and The Community Health Care Advisory Council. He belonged to the Crichton Club and the Pickaway Country Club. A life-long member of the Circleville Presbyterian Church, he was a Deacon and an Elder. Mr. Will is survived by special cousins, Edwin Louer, Circleville, Anita and Roger Louer, St. Helena, California, Tessa and Albert Louer, Williamsburg, Virginia; and an extended family of many very close friends even unto the fourth generation, some of whom knew him as Uncle Charlie.
