Christina Ahearn Obituary

Ahearn, Christina
1960 - 2018
Christina Ahearn, 58, of Westerville, passed away May 12, 2018 surrounded by family at the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center Ross Heart Hospital. Born February 10, 1960, Chris was a graduate of the Westerville South High School, class of 1978, a 1995 graduate of Otterbein University, and long time employee of JP Morgan Chase. A devoted wife, mother, daughter, grandmother, sister, and aunt, she valued family above all. Chris never missed a chance to celebrate her children, present at every dance recital, hockey game, and school function, baking every birthday cake, and cheering on every milestone. She is preceded in death by her son Nathan Charles Preston. She is survived by her loving husband of 24 years, Ed Ahearn; daughter, Lindsey Deye; son in law, Corey Deye; granddaughter, Elin Deye; son, Tyler Ahearn; parents, Carol Norris and Donald Moore; step parents, Neal Norris and Helen Moore; sisters, Cynthia Moore and Corinne Moore; step siblings, Toni, Diana, Steven, and Scott; and nephew and nieces, Alexander, Mackenzie, and Maya. Chris's strength and humor were contagious, impressing everyone she met, especially her wonderful nurses and doctors on the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit and the Pulmonary Transplant Team at the OSU Wexner Medical Center. Chris was strong, smart, creative, independent, loved fiercely, and is fiercely loved. A visitation will be held from 2-4 and 7-9pm Wednesday, May 16 at SCHOEDINGER WORTHINGTON CHAPEL, 6699 N. High Street in Worthington, where a Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10am Thursday, May 17, 2018. Interment to follow at Blendon Township Cemetery. Chris was a selfless friend at work and at play. One of my fondest memories is the great scavenger hunt she organized. How wonderful of her to put her energy and creativity into such an event for her friends. May this an other joyful memories comfort you as we all mourn.

a loved one

May 15, 2018

I love you my best friend. You are my first best friend, you supported me during the hardest time in my life. You were my first roommate, and the second musketeer with you, I and Joe. You were my maid of honor. And my son took his first steps to you. I cried with you and for you when Nathan passed away. I thought I might lose you, your pain was so great, but as always you survived with strength and determination. I should have known better than be concerned. I have so many memories, in fact, Joe and I were relating some particularly crazy things we did. But I'll keep those to myself... One of my first vivid memories is you slathering Dippoty Doo on your bangs at night, then taping them down before you went to bed. I found that hilarious. Last time we saw each other was at my sister's. We sat in the gazebo, and talked for over an hour, it was like it always was. You ask me a question and I answered and you could always find a sarcastic coment to make sure I didn't take myself too seriously. No matter what each of us went through, we always stuck together.
I can't get there for your service, but you know you are in all my thoughts, and every memory is a good one. I wanted to come and say a few words about my best friend, but since I can't,these are the words I want to say. I love you, you are my first and best friend, I will check in on Lindsey and Elin, but I'm sure they'll be fine. She has her mother's strength. You can rest now, you are loved by all that crossed your path. And especially me, I love you,and I will always keep you alive in my heart and mind. I will always remember what great times we had. I will miss you. Love, Jules

Ed and family - I am so sorry to hear about Chris' passing. Chris was such a wonderful person, even when I kept you out past curfew, Ed! I know the depth of loss you must be experiencing and hold you and your family in my thoughts and prayers. I hope the wonderful memories of the years together can help soften the blow from the loss of your wife, mother, friend, companion. If there is anything I can do, you know you don't hesitate to ask.

My thoughts and prayers are with you, Ed, and family. I got to know Chris and appreciate her sense of humor when she joined the Enterprise Systems team. We shared stories about our daughters heading off to college.
She will be missed.
