Donald Byerly Sr.

Byerly Donald Byerly Sr., age 93, died in Grand Blanc, MI on Tuesday, June 18, 2013. Born in London, OH and son of Carl and Louise Sidner Byerly of London, OH. Mr. Byerly lived the majority of his life in Columbus, Ohio. He worked for General Motors for 30 years. After Mr. Byerly retired from GM, he opened a successful pizza shop with his son Donald Byerly Jr. on the west side of Columbus. He lived with his youngest son and family, Dr. Carl Byerly of Clarkston, MI for the last 6 years of his life. Survivors include sons, Dr. Carl Byerly (Jeannine) of Clarkston, MI and Rodney Clark of Tampa, FL; and daughter, Joyce Galloway (Phillip) of Wilmington, NC.; stepsons, Paul Maclam (Sue) of Columbus, Pat Maclam (Debbie) of Ft. Myers FL and Perry Maclam (Carolyn) of Columbus; seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Donald was preceded in death by his sister Helen Byerly, brother Vernon Byerly, son Donald Byerly, Jr. and wife Pauline Byerly. Friends may call at JERRY SPEARS FUNERAL HOME, 2693 W. Broad St., Friday 3:30-7:30 p.m., where service will be held 10 a.m. Saturday. Interment Pleasant Hill Cemetery, West Jefferson, OH.
