Donald C. Primmer

Primmer, Sr Donald C. Primmer, Sr., age 91, died peacefully on December 21, 2013 at Arbors East Nursing Home. He was born in Lancaster, OH on June 27, 1922 to the late Martin and Gladys (nee Beavers) Primmer. He was preceded in death by Jean his beloved wife of 36 years; brother Phil (Nancy) Primmer of Barnesville, OH; daughters Jackie Primmer and Sandy (Maynard) Hoover; son Kurt. Donald is survived by sister, Gloria (the late Bill) Brown of McConnelsville, OH; daughters, Jody (Randy) White and Erica (John) Hursey; son, Cliff (Samantha); and many loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A graduate of M&M High School in McConnelsville, OH, Don interrupted his college education at the Ohio State University to volunteer for the Army Air Corp during WWII. He served in the 8th Air Force in Lavenham, England as a B-17 pilot receiving the Air Medal and Distinguished Flying Cross for his service. After the war, he returned stateside and graduated with a degree in Pharmacy. He was recalled to active duty during the Korean War where he commanded an Army transportation unit in Germany. The family would like to thank Arbors East Nursing Home and Mount Carmel Hospice for taking good care of Dad in his final months. Private interment at Maple Grove Cemetery, Lancaster, OH.
