Kincaid Edwin "Pete" Burton Kincaid, 89, formerly of Columbus, OH, passed away peacefully at his daughter's home in Woodstock, GA on Monday, December 9, 2013. He was born on August 31, 1924 in Durbin, WV. He was a member of the Durbin Methodist Church and was a 50-year+ member of the Masonic Lodge in Cass, WV. Pete was retired from the C&O Railroad after 25 years of service in Durbin, WV and Huntington, WV; and later after 20 years with the Department of Defense (DCSC) in Columbus, OH. Over the years he enjoyed gardening, fishing, singing, and the company of his wife, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He enjoyed following his favorite sports teams at Ohio State University
(OSU), Princeton University
, and West Virginia University (WVU), as well as the St. Louis Cardinals baseball team, which he had followed since the 1930s. Pete is survived by his wife of 67 years, Braunda (Bonnie) M. Kincaid, of Woodstock, GA; a son, Dan (Vicki) Kincaid, of Athens, OH; a son, Michael Kincaid, of Pennington, NJ; and two daughters, Marsha Kincaid and Melinda (Tom) Belisle, both of Woodstock, GA. He was especially proud that his four children were college graduates: Dan from WVU and Duke; Mike from Princeton; Marsha from Cedar Crest College; and Melinda from OSU. Pete is also survived by a brother, Don (Jo) Seiler, of Mt. Prospect, IL; a sister, Betty Yergin, of Lombard, IL; and a special cousin, June Palson, of Mentor, OH. In addition, Pete is survived by grandchildren, Jeff (Emma) Kincaid, of Redondo Beach, CA; Brent (Marie) Kincaid, of Scott Depot, WV; Shannon (Steve) Lough, of Morgantown, WV; Kristen Kincaid, of Yardley, PA; Jack and Zoe Belisle, of Woodstock, GA; and great grandchildren Benjamin Kincaid, Julie and PJ Baskaron, Redondo Beach, CA; Luke, Ethan, and Stella Kincaid, Scott Depot, WV; Sydney and Sarah Lough, Morgantown, WV; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by brothers Sterling, Ralph, and Norman, and daughter-in-law Lynn Kincaid. A private family service is being held in Woodstock, GA followed by interment in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens cemetery in Columbus, OH. A memorial service for additional family and friends to remember Pete will be held in Columbus, OH in the early Spring.
