Elizabeth A. (Smith) Stein

STEIN Elizabeth A. (Smith) Stein, age 87 formerly of Upper Arlington and a seven year resident of West Orange, New Jersey, died Saturday, January 5, 2013 in West Orange, NJ. She was born July 23, 1925 in Columbus, Ohio, the daughter of Chester A. and Elizabeth (Leeper) Smith. She worked as a legislative aide with the Ohio State Legislative Service Commission and in Senator John Glenn's office in Columbus. Later, she was an admissions counselor with First Community Village and an administrator with several other nursing homes in the Central Ohio area retiring after 15 years. Elizabeth is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Libby and Dennis Klein, Teaneck, NJ; son and daughter-in-law, David and Susan Stein, of Pomona CA; grandchildren, Aaron (Dina) Klein, Leah and Rachel Klein; brother, Paul Smith and his wife, Sarah of Upper Arlington; nieces, Leslie Smith and Stephanie (Jeff) Johnston; several great-nieces and nephews and many friends. She was a graduate of The Ohio State University and attended graduate school at Yale Divinity School. Elizabeth loved to paint, travel, learn, exercise, and read. She was also devoted to Christian teaching and service through youth programming and volunteer work at First Community Church. Funeral Service will be held 3 p.m. Monday, January 7, 2013 at the SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 1740 Zollinger Rd. where the family will receive friends from 1-3 p.m. Monday. Reverend Timothy C.
