Ella I. Bauer(1934 - 2014)

Bauer Ella I. Bauer, age 79 of Street, MD, died on Thursday, March 27, 2014 in Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air, MD. She was the wife of David Bauer who died on July 8, 1994. Born on July 24, 1934 in Sullivan County, TN, she was the daughter of the late Otis Denton and Pauline (Hurst) Arnold and a graduate of The Ohio State University. Mrs. Bauer had moved to Ohio in the early 1950's where she met David Bauer who would become her husband. Mrs. Bauer began her career working in the office of Clerk of Courts of Franklin County, OH. After years of service, she was appointed Financial Director of Children's Services, from which she retired in the 1980's. In retirement, Mrs. Bauer volunteered at the county library and handled the financial affairs for her parish, Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Grove City, OH. She was a very active member of the parish, helping others on their spiritual journey, worked in the outreach programs for the poor and with continuing Catholic education. Mrs. Bauer received the honor of "Catholic Woman of the Year" on two occasions. Mrs. Bauer was a lifetime member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliaries in Baltimore, OH. She was known to be a generous person, supporting and emphasizing the importance of a good education. She is survived by her sisters, Eula McCoy of Perryville, MD and Verla L. Felts of Whiteford, MD; and many loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister C. Marie Robinson and a brother Denver Arnold. Funeral service will be held on Friday April 4, 2014 at 1 p.m. with visitation one hour prior to the service at the SCHOEDINGER GROVE CITY CHAPEL 3920 Broadway with Rev.
