Emerson Barth

Barth Emerson "Bud" Barth, age 87, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family following a brave battle with congestive heart failure. He was born in Toledo, Ohio and raised in Youngstown. He graduated from Liberty High School and The Ohio State University in 1949 with a business degree and was a lifelong Buckeye fan. Bud spent 35 years with General Fireproofing Co. and retired from his position as Vice President of Product Management in 1985. He was a 60 year member of the Masonic Lodge and spent 4 years in the U.S. Navy during World War II graduating from the Navy Air Corp in 1946 with a naval officer commission. Bud is survived by his wife and soul mate of 64 years, Helen (Christian); and his three children, Diane (Jerry) Rosenthal of Aurora, Illinois, Jeffrey (Tara) Barth of Kirkland, Washington and David (Leslie) Barth of Granville, Ohio; along with daughter-in-law, Olga Barth of Upper Arlington, Ohio; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by son Ronald Barth in 2008. Funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m. on Tuesday, September 3 in the Chapel at the Masonic Retirement Home, 2655 W. National Rd., Springfield, OH 45505.
