Evelyn Marie Macklin(1920 - 2014)

Macklin Evelyn Marie Macklin, passed peacefully on to her Lord, Jesus Christ, on March 17, 2014. She was born in Thurston, Ohio, to John F. and Pearl Crist on December 23, 1920. Her beloved husband of 54 years, Gerald E. Macklin, preceded her in death in 2000. They had lived in Dublin since 1963 where they were active in the community and had many long time friends. She was also preceded in death by her sisters Edie Mercer, Annabelle Cochenour, and Alice Kindred and in-laws Lenore and Robert Landis, and Edgar Stover. She is survived by her daughter, Barbara; son, Douglas (Kim), and Greg (Tina); grandchildren, Michael and Lisa Wasiloff, Gene, Lee, Erin, Matt (Amy), Kathleen, James; and two great-granddaughters, Julia and Lauren Macklin; sisters-in-law, Phyllis Stover, Verla (Marvin) Wright; numerous nieces and nephews. She was a member of Northwest United Methodist Church for 45 years and volunteered at NNEMAP food pantry for 35 years where she often took her grandchildren along to help. Together, Evelyn and Gerald created a Christian home where family and friends were always welcome and where they were known for their hospitality and generosity. We will miss her love, kindness, wisdom and gentle heart. Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, March 20, 2014 at the SCHOEDINGER NORTHEAST CHAPEL, 1051 E. Johnstown Rd. (at Beecher Rd.), Gahanna, where the Funeral Service will begin at 10 a.m. on Friday, March 21, 2014. Pastor John Hickman officiating with Pastor Tom Slack co-officiating.
