MSgt. Floyd W. White Jr.

White MSgt. Floyd W. White Jr., age 72, of Columbus, Ohio, went to be with the Lord on Friday, June 21, 2013. He was born in Cadiz, Ohio on July 18, 1940 to the late Floyd W. White Sr. and Martha Ann White. Floyd graduated from Cadiz High School where he was honored as an all-state and all-district athlete in football, basketball and track. He also attended Wilberforce College. He retired from the United States Air Force where he worked as an Air Traffic Controller for 22 years and retired from the United States Postal Service after 20 years of service. He was a member of World Harvest Church. He enjoyed cooking, camping in his RV, playing golf, traveling, and working on cars. He was an avid fan of The OSU Buckeyes and the Pittsburgh Steelers. He was known as "Grandpa" by the Walnut Ridge High School Booster Club. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother George White. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Pearl White; children, Jana White and her fiancé Mark Cardwell, Kevin (Carolyn) White, and Mark White; brothers, Everett (Linda) White and Nelson (Pat) White; sister, Margaret White; sister in-law, Diane White; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, other family, and friends. A memorial service will he held on Sunday, July 14, 2013 at 1 p.m. at the SCHOEDINGER EAST CHAPEL, 5360 E. Livingston Avenue, Columbus, Ohio. Please visit to share a memory of Floyd.
