George Perry Wood(1928 - 2013)

Wood George Perry Wood, 85, of Delaware, formerly of Columbus, died Tuesday, November 26, 2013. He was born July 20, 1928 in Columbus to the late Austin and Elizabeth (Morris) Wood. He was a graduate of South High School and The Ohio State University. He was a U.S. Army Veteran. He was employed by Federal Glass until 1978, after which he and Lura spent a year doing volunteer work at Henderson Settlement, Frakes, KY. He then was employed at Lancaster Colony until his retirement. He attended Methodist church his entire life including Linden Heights, Epworth and William St. He was a gifted artist and woodcarver. He loved playing golf and walking his beloved dog, Beau. Everyone that knew him loved him. He is preceded in death by siblings Robert Wood, Mary Jane Woicinski and Richard Wood. He is survived by his loving wife, Lura L. (Williams) Wood; children, Linda L. (Theodore) Ferguson, Karen W. (Robert) Adams and Jud J. (Monica) Wood; ten grandchildren and four great grandchildren. A celebration of his life will be held Sunday, December 8, 2013 at 2 p.m. at SCHOEDINGER NORTH CHAPEL, 5554 Karl Rd. Memorial contributions may be made to William St. United Methodist Church, 28 W.
