Grace G. Herman M.D.

HERMAN Grace G. Herman, MD passed away peacefully on December 31, 2012 surrounded by her family. She was born in New York City on May 12, 1926, daughter of Samuel Gales and Frances Roberts. She attended The High School of Music and Art and Cornell University and obtained her MD from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. She served on the faculty of Columbia and Mount Sinai medical schools in New York, conducting cancer research. She later took a position in employee health services at Metropolitan Life Insurance Company. She was also a published poet. Preceded in death by her brother Jerome Goldstein and husband Marvin Bregman. She is survived by her daughters, Gail Herman and Joan Herman; grandson, Drew Mendelbaum and her first husband, Roland Herman. The family wishes to thank all of the wonderful staff from The Forum at Knightsbridge and Odyssey Hospice for all of their loving care. Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, January 2nd at THE EPSTEIN MEMORIAL CHAPEL, 3232 E. Main St. with Rabbi Rick Kellner officiating. Burial will follow at Green Lawn Cemetery - Beth Tikvah section.
