Howard Jay Bush, age 91, of Findlay, Ohio (formerly of Columbus), passed away on January 25, 2018. He was born in Portsmouth, Ohio on June 14, 1926. Jay was brilliant, well read, creative, loved writing stories, and was quite an adventurer. He was drafted in the Army at the age of 18 and was a veteran of World War II. After his discharge, he remained in Germany and in the Army as a civilian working for the Adjutant General. He met his bride, Maria, in Germany and married in Berlin. He brought his bride and her two daughters to the US where he worked for several companies including the B & O Railroad, a storm windows company and then was an independent broker with Certified Oil for over 30 years. Preceded in death by his loving wife Maria, parents Everett and Anna (Little) Bush, brothers Everett, Gayle, Phil and sister Carol Bennett. He is survived by his son, Jon (Carolyn) Bush of Findlay, OH; stepdaughters, Renate (Ed) Ranostaj of Katy, TX and Helga (Chuck) Kittrell of Powell, OH; grandchildren, Seth (Shelly) Bixby of Stevensville, MI, Carey (Matt) Clifford of Findlay, OH, Terry (Kim) Ranostaj of Ashville, NC, Greg (Julie) Ranostaj of St. Louis, MO, Scott (Tracy) Ranostaj of Midland, TX, Laurie (Steve) Bushong of Houston, TX, David (Lisa) Ranostaj of Friendswood, TX and Kari Kittrell (Rick) Poole of Columbus, OH; 17 great grandchildren; 1 great, great grandchild; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be on Monday, January 29, 2018 at 1pm at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 1740 Zollinger Rd, Columbus, OH 43221, with visitation from 11am till time of service. Interment to follow at Union Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to Bridge Home Health & Hospice, 15100 Birchaven Lane, Findlay, Ohio 45840, or Alzheimer's Association, Central Ohio Chapter, 1379 Dublin Road, Columbus, Ohio 43215, or a charity of your choice.
