Irma Julia Lewis

Lewis Irma Julia Lewis, age 102, died Saturday, September 14, 2013 at Mt. Carmel West surrounded by family and friends. Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His godly ones, Psalms 116:15. She was preceded in death by her parents Charles A. and Forest M. (Rogers) Mumma and her husband David R. Lewis M.D. and newborn son Thomas. Irma is survived by her son, William D. (Rebecca); her daughter, Linda K.; granddaughter, Greta M. (Dr. Eric) Bowman; and many dear friends including close friend, Steve Jackson. Irma was a member of Grove City Eastern Star and the Southwest Franklin County Historical Society. She was a very active member of the Grove City United Methodist Church for 77 years. Irma will be remembered for her Christian faith, caring for others, hospitality, generosity, and gardening. She was a 1929 graduate of North High School in Columbus. She attended The Ohio State University, and Office Training School. Before her marriage, she was a legal secretary. Family will receive friends Wednesday, September 18, 2013 from 4-8 p.m. at SCHOEDINGER-NORRIS CHAPEL, 3920 Broadway where funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, September 19, 2013 with Dr. Dennis Miller officiating.
