John S. Guzzo

Guzzo John S. Guzzo, of Grove City, age 76, died Saturday, June 29, 2013 after a short battle with a rare blood disease. He is preceded in death by his mother and father Joan and Louis Guzzo, and his sweet granddaughter Shannon Powell. John leaves behind the love of his life and wife of 27 years, Deborah; children, Michelle (Mitch) Sayers of Columbus, Renee (Larry) Fox of Columbus, Lisa (Jeff) Schmidt of Galloway, Denise Dewalt of Mansfield, TX, John Guzzo of Columbus; 11 grandchildren; two great grandchildren; sister, JoAnn Sparks of Glendale, CA; brother, Louis (Betty) Guzzo of Inman, SC; aunt, Sylvia (Tom) Hensel; mother-in-law, Evelyn Silver; sisters- and brothers-in- law; many nieces, nephews and dear friends. He loved the Lord and was blessed with a talent as an amazing carpenter. His craftsmanship showed in his pen making. John was in the Naval Reserve, a Retired Columbus Firefighter working as a firefighter, paramedic and heavy rescue. John was also Vice President of Armstrong & Okey Court Reporters for 14 years. John was a member of the Grove City Church of the Nazarene and was an excellent cook especially his Italian dishes. He was generous with the many blessings the Lord gave him. He enjoyed traveling with his wife and will be greatly missed. Contributions may be made to the Leukemia Society in John or Shannon's name. Memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 13, 2013 at 11 a.m. at the Grove City Church of the Nazarene, 4770 Hoover Rd. with Pastor Mark Fuller officiating.
