Joseph Donavan

Donavan Joseph Donavan, 95, passed away Saturday, May 11, 2013. He was born July 23, 1917 in Columbus, Ohio to the late Milton and Harriet (Carey) Donavan. He was a proud WWII Navy veteran who served in the Pacific theatre. Joe was an electrician and founded All Service Electric Co. He was a member of IBEW 683, past president of USS Concord Ship reunion for WWII veterans, past president of the National Camper's and Hiker's Association, past president of the All Weather Riders Motorcycle Club, member of Crossroad UMC, member of VFW Post 3424, Masonic Lodge 623, and Moose Lodge 11. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son Joseph C. Donavan, brother Lester Lawson Jr., sister Doris Poole. Joe is survived by his loving wife, of 71 years, Bettie; son, Dan (Kathy) Donavan; grandchildren, Dan Donavan II, Crystalyn Donavan, Megan Donavan Taylor, Teresa (George) Schneider; great-grandchildren, Corrin Schneider, Lauren Schneider, and George Schneider Jr.; and many nieces; nephews; and dear friends. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Wednesday May 15, 2013 at the SCHOEDINGER HILLTOP CHAPEL, 3030 W. Broad St., Columbus, Ohio, where funeral will be held 10 a.m. Thursday. Interment Wesley Chapel Cemetery.
