Judith Ann Northrup

Northrup Judith Ann Northrup, of Columbus, passed away on Friday, September 27, 2013 at the age of 54. She was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma, July 27, 1959, the second child of Dr. Robert and Jacqueline Northrup. She earned a bachelor of arts degree in history and anthropology from the University of Tulsa and was president of the local chapter of Phi Mu sorority. She earned a Juris Doctor degree from the Ohio State University College of Law and practiced with law firms, Thompson, Hine & Flory, and Ed Whipps and Associates before going into private practice. She was currently working as an IT team leader for software testing at H&R Block as well as a Premium tax preparer for the same firm. She was a Columbus resident by choice and enjoyed the cultural arts scene of the city. She volunteered as a poll worker and in providing legal aid at the Columbus homeless shelter. She liked books, cats, classical music and opera, nature hikes, sports, gardening, good food and travel. She was "everybody's best friend" and will be greatly missed. She is survived by her mother, Jacqueline; and brother, Curtis, both of Tulsa. She is an organ/tissue donor for Lifeline of Ohio. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Nature Conservancy. A memorial service will be held for her on October 12 at 11 a.m. at COOK & SON - PALLAY FUNERAL HOME, 614-444-7861.
