Lowell D. Proper

Proper Lowell "Larry" D. Proper, age 85, of Columbus, Ohio and Ft. Myers Beach, Florida, passed away on December 26, 2012, after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer disease. He was born in Columbus, Ohio on June 8, 1927. Larry graduated from West High School, where he played trumpet. After graduating, he attended The Ohio State University. Larry worked for the Columbus Fire Department for 35 years as a firefighter and medic. After his retirement from the Fire Department, Larry was elected as a Board member and President of the Palms of Bay Beach Condominium Association in Ft. Myers Beach, Florida. Larry and his wife were active in their church, Chapel by the Sea. Larry is preceded in death by his loving wife of 60 years, Patricia, parents Ruth and Lawrence Proper, and brother Lewis Proper. Larry is survived by sons, Garry (Luann) Proper, Jerry Proper; and daughter, Sharon (Rick) Abraham; grandchildren, Kristina (Jeff) Vrchotitchy, Angela (Steve) Clifton, Robert (Jessica) Proper, Kaylyn Proper, Matt Abraham, Stephanie Abraham; nine great-grandchildren; and Brenda Rodriguez, his caregiver and family friend of three years.
