Margaret Ellen Clay

Clay Margaret Ellen Clay, of Worthington and a resident of Worthington Christian Village, passed away Wednesday, April 11, 2013 at Worthington Christian Village. She was born in Shadyside, Ohio on April 27, 1928 to the late T. Mansel and Helena B. (Wymer) Kirkland. She was also preceded in death by her husband Bob Clay. Margaret Ellen had numerous accomplishments in life. She was a graduate of Shadyside High School; the White Cross Hospital School of Nursing in 1950. She later graduated from The Ohio State University School of Nursing, earning her BSN in 1972, in 1980 she earned a Masters Degree from The Ohio State University College of Education and she was a Registered Nurse with Riverside Methodist Hospital, retiring after 30 years of service. She is survived by her son, Steve (Dianne) of Hilliard, and son, Craig of Columbus; granddaughters, Jennifer (Philip Tan) of Boston, MA, and Elizabeth of Columbus; great granddaughter, Marion Tan Yunhui Clay, Boston, MA. Margaret Ellen was a member of Worthington Chapter #287 Order of the Star, where she served as Worthy Matron in 1975. She also served as a Deputy Grand Matron of District #17 OES, 1979; and a member of Thea Court #5, L.O.S.O.N.A., Past President of the Worthington Women's Club and a member of the Worthington Presbyterian Church. Family and friends may call from 2-4p.m. Sunday, April 14th at RUTHERFORD-CORBIN FUNERAL HOME, 515 High Street, Worthington, OH where an Eastern Star Service will be held at 4 p.m. A Memorial Service will be held 11 a.m. Monday, April 15, 2013 at Worthington Presbyterian Church, 773 High St., Worthington, OH 43085.
