Marilyn Zeigler Ross

ROSS Marilyn Zeigler Ross, of Worthington, went home to God Tuesday, January 1, 2013 surrounded by her loving family. She was a woman of generous and indomitable spirit. Marilyn will be reunited for eternity with her beloved husband John Jerome "Jerry" Ross, her dearest parents George Edward Zeigler and Mary Glass Zeigler, brother Elvin Andrew Zeigler, and many wonderful pets, including her devoted Kameho and Little John. Those who will cherish the memory of their loved Mother include children, Kathe Lyn (Mark Aneshansley) Ross, Mark Edward Ross, Todd Matthew (Jamie Lane) Ross, Melissa Ann Kromer, Holly Elizabeth Ross. Known to her 12 grandchildren as "Gram", she was a loving force to Jason (Sonja) Carsey, Joshua and Megan Kromer; Johnathan (Allison) and Eric (Jessie) Ross; Justin, Corey, Kayleigh, Noah and Jared Ross, Hunter and Hayden Matthews. Also survived by her loving brother and best friend, Geoff Zeigler; sister, Natalie Fleming; and brother, George (Charlene) Zeigler; and loving nieces, nephews and great-grandchildren, extended family, many dear friends and her precious pets, Amelia Peabody, Tiger Lily and Keziah. Marilyn was a constant source of love, guidance, inspiration and strength. She was the heart of our family. Marilyn was born September 23, 1936 in Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania. First and foremost, she was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who was very active in the lives of her family. Along with her husband Jerry, Marilyn created a happy home for her family. She was always there for her children and grandchildren. She was a woman of beauty and grace with a lovely smile. She will be remembered for her love of family - especially her grandchildren of whom she was most proud. Her passion for antiques led her to become a life-long antique dealer specializing in primitives and collectibles. An avid reader, garage saler, crossword puzzler, morel mushroom hunter, designer of beautiful gardens. Talented artist, poetess extraordinaire, wonderful cook, story teller and singer of songs. Marilyn loved theatre and musicals. She graduated a year early from Northwestern High School in Springfield, Ohio. Alumna of The Ohio State University where she met her husband of 43 years sitting on the steps of "Hogs and Frogs". It was KISMET. Life-long member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Elected Republican County Committee Woman, Madison, New Jersey. Former Sunday school teacher, elementary school room mother and field trip chaperone, Girl Scout leader and member of a local Study Group in Worthington. Marilyn was a long-time member of Liberty Presbyterian Church, Delaware. Memorial Service will be held at Liberty Presbyterian Church, 7080 Olentangy River Road, Delaware, Ohio 43015, Saturday, January 5, 2013 at 3:00 P.M., Pastor Don Coleman officiating. Family will receive friends at a reception at the church immediately following the service. Private committal services will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers, to honor Marilyn's love of animals, the family requests contributions be made in her memory to "Friends of the Shelter," which funds medical treatment for dogs at the Franklin County Dog Shelter Adoption Center.
