To the Family of Marvin Davis, Jr. I wish to add a word of comfort to you as well though this is very late. My name is Pastor J.W. Matt Hennessee of Portland Oregon. Marvin and I never met. He sent a note to me in early 2017 or so and I'm not sure how he knew to do so, but he did. I am the son of Gloria Hennessee & Marvin Davis, Sr. I never saw Marvin except when he was in his casket and I came down to Columbus for the visitation. Later I met Grandmother Rosa Davis, Aunt Marion Davis, Uncle Chet Davis, Uncle Ronnie, Aunt Doris, and Uncle Dave. While I grew up in my second foster home in Columbus and lived on Rosewood Avenue up the street from Ruskin I was blessed to know Melvin and Mary Davis; Marvin Jr.'s uncle and aunt. I went to school with his cousins Rhonda, Terry, and Mark. All of them were special to me when I was growing up. Of course, we have lost Melvin & Mary but they, too, are in the Lord's presence. As far as I know the only living ones among them now is Uncle Ronnie and Aunt Doris. When Marvin Jr. reached out I was excited to hear from him and sent a note back. I never heard from him again and it was Aunt Doris who let me know that he had passed away. So I wish greetings and blessings to his family and pray his memory still lives within. Please know in the lens of the Lord; He sees us all in our greatest potential and I am grateful to know that Marvin knew the Lord and got busy in the vineyard with his Pastor, First Lady, and congregation there in Columbus. Blessings to all of you.

Pastor J W Matt Hennessee

I wasn't ready to say goodbye to you yet, I feel like we were just getting to know each other. My heart aches knowing that my dad is no longer walking this earth. There are so many things I wanted to tell you..so many memories that we won't be able to create.

I know now you're at peace with The Most High! & I find solace in that.

I love you daddy
