Mary Jane Mather

Mather Mary Jane "Jane" Mather, 89, of Grove City, passed peacefully on Thursday, February 28, 2013. She joins her late husband James Mather, sisters Catherine Herndon and Helen Meyers, brothers Frederick Meyers Jr. and Edward Meyers, sister-in-law Marjorie Meyers, nephew Richard Herndon. Jane was born to the late Elizabeth and Frederick Meyers, November 19, 1923, in Columbus, OH. She is survived by sons, Douglas (Michelle) Mather, Vallejo, CA, and Randy (Susan) Mather, Grove City, OH; grandsons, Michael Mather, San Francisco, CA, and Steven Mather, Austin, TX; beloved brother, Eugene Meyers, NC; nieces, Margene (Michael) Radcliff, NC; Carol Cornett, OH; nephew, Mark (Marlene) Meyers, OH; and other nieces and nephews; friends, Paula Blair, Joan Courtney; and special friend, Janet Sommer, who assisted her during her last months of independent living. Jane graduated from Hilliard High School in 1941, retired from American Electric Power Co., and was a dedicated volunteer at Mt. Carmel Hospital for many years. She was a doting mother who was extremely proud of her family. We wish to sincerely thank the caregivers of Hoover Haus Assisted Living, Grove City, OH. We will be forever grateful for your love and commitment to Mom. We would also like to thank the nurses and staff of Heartland Hospice, especially Diana Calder R.N, Chaplain Deb Click, and Sharon Auteri, nurse's aide. Your compassion during this difficult time made her journey to God a gentle and peaceful one, we will be forever grateful. Mom, may you find peace in Heaven, wrapped in your robe and slippers, with a Klondike bar in each hand! We will miss you!
