Mary Thomas Grogan

GROGAN Mary Thomas Grogan, age 99, died peacefully at Wexner Heritage House on December 13, 2012. Mrs. Grogan was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years Thomas W. "Bill" Grogan, her sister Catherine Thomson, and her parents Evan Thomas and Louisa (Ingram) Thomas. She is survived by her children, Catherine (David) Conrad of Grand Rapids, Michigan; Susan (Richard) Backs of Seattle, Washington; Carol Grogan of Columbus; Thomas W. (Carla) Grogan, Jr. of Columbus; and her grandchildren, Jeffrey Grogan of Columbus, and Kelly Grogan of New Milford, Connecticut. Mrs. Grogan was a graduate of North High School and The Ohio State University. Mrs. Grogan was a member of St. Catharine Church, St. Catharine Golden Age Club, Cancer Crew #1, Bexley Activities Club, and the Bexley Women's Club. For many years, Mrs. Grogan was an avid duplicate bridge player in the Columbus area. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday 10 a.m. at Our Mother of Sorrows Chapel, 6440 S. High St. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call Sunday 2-5 p.m. at EGAN-RYAN FUNERAL HOME, 403 E. Broad St. The family is especially thankful to the wonderful staffs of Zusman Hospice and Wexner Heritage House who saw Mrs. Grogan through her last year.
