Ralph L. Byrum Sr.

Byrum Ralph L. Byrum, Sr., age 71, passed away at home on Monday, February 24, 2014. He was born July 1, 1942 in Mohegan, West Virginia. Retired from Simmons Bedding Company in Grove City. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of the American Legion Paschall Post 164. He was an avid coon hunter with friends all over the country. He never met a stranger. He was also a thoroughbred horse trainer at Beulah Park for many years. In addition to his parents, Cullie and Mary Ellen Byrum, he was preceded in death by his infant son Brian Keith Byrum and siblings Russell, Charles, Ronnie, Roy "Tim", Barbara Day and Donna Gambill. He is survived by his loving wife, of 54 years, Sharon; sons, Ralph (Penny) Byrum, Jr., Dwayne (Stacey) Byrum; grandchildren, Dallas Byrum and Tara (Scott) Moscato; great-granddaughter, Sawyer Michelle Mascato; sister, Lucy (James) Pack; very special friends, David Carr and Darryl Shrewsbury; and many nieces, nephews and good friends. Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday, February 27, 2014 at the SCHOEDINGER GROVE CITY CHAPEL, 3920 Broadway, Grove City, where the funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Friday with Pastor Gilbert R.
