Richard Graham Hall

Hall Richard "Dick" Graham Hall was born in 1930 and died January 24, 2014. His wife, Joan Tyler Hall, preceded him in death in 2005. He is survived by three sons, Ken of Ann Arbor, Michigan, Larry (Carol) of Plain City, Ohio and Mitch (Lori) of Saline, Michigan. He had seven grandchildren, Joe (Jillian), Nic (Traci), Will, Claire, Kelly, Kevin and Kyle. He was a life member of the OSU Alumni Association. He was a teacher and administrator for 37 1/2 years, primarily with the Columbus Public Schools, also teaching two years in Germany. He joined the USMC Air Reserve two days after his 17 birthday and was activated during the Korean War and was a S/Sgt in aerial photography. He had a BA, MA and 45 hours beyond from the Ohio State University. He graduated from University High School. He was an Eagle Scout. He was a member of Epsilon Pi Tau, Kappa Phi Kappa and Phi Delta Kappa. After his retirement, he graduated Summa Cum Laude from Columbus State's dental technology program and did dental work out of his home for a short period of time. He was a lifetime resident of Clintonville and was a member of Maple Grove Church for 40 years. Visiting hours will be at 3 p.m. on Sunday, February 2 at Maple Grove United Methodist Church, 7 West Henderson Road (at North High Street). A service will follow at 4 p.m. with Pastor Glenn Schwerdtfeger officiating. A meal will be served after the service. If desired, donations may be directed to the Maple Grove music program in memory of Dick's wife, Joan. Arrangements are being made by the WEIR-AREND FUNERAL HOME and burial will be at Pleasant Cemetery at a later date. Please visit to sign the official online condolence book.
