Robert E. "Bob" Maibach Jr.

Maibach, Jr. Robert E. "Bob" Maibach, Jr., 68, of Johnstown, formerly of Pataskala and Sterling, died Thursday, March 20, 2014 at his residence following a courageous battle with cancer with his loving family by his side. He was born December 12, 1945 in Lodi to Robert E. and Velma Jean (Garrison) Maibach and has lived in Johnstown for the past 9 years. Bob graduated from Norwayne High School in the class of 1963 and from Otterbein College. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War Era from 1967-1973. He married Micki Mason on October 10, 2001, they have been happily married for 12 years, she survives. Bob worked as a Healthcare Analyst for Molina Health Care and for Huntington National Bank in Columbus. He was a member of Johnstown Presbyterian Church; a member of the Masonic Lodge and Rotary Club in Logan; he loved the Buckeyes and for 6 years served as a Portal Chief at all of the home O.S.U. football games. Bob enjoyed spending time with his family and was an avid horseman. Surviving in addition to his wife, is mother, Velma Jean Miller of Westfield Center; daughter, Emily (Greg) Morris of Blacklick; son, Jeff (Heather) Maibach of Cardington; step daughter, Angela (Phil) Holmberg of Amelia; step son, Robert Mason of Hebron; grandchildren, Will, Anna, Reagan and Kort; step grandchildren, Kala, Luke, Robert, Alex and Reis; brother, James (Melissa) Maibach of Norwalk; sisters, Patti Leohr of Chippewa Lake, Virginia "Ginny" Hahn of Westfield, Sally (Tom) Brokken of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Sue (Barry) Schaad of Lebanon, Connie Sims of Wickliffe, Kathy (Tom) Iceman of Wooster, Marilyn (Tracy) Slater of Creston, Janie (Steve) Burgan of Wooster and Robin Maibach of Texas. He was preceded in death by his father, infant brother Danny, step father Ken Miller and brothers-in-law Phil Hahn and Ron Sims. Service will be held Wednesday, March 26, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at the Apostolic Christian Church, 10699 Steiner Rd., Rittman, OH with Ministers of the Church officiating. Burial will be at the Apostolic Cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday, March 25 from 5 to 8 P.M. at AUBLE-GILLMAN FUNERAL HOME, 360 W. Sunset Dr., Rittman, OH and from 9:30-10:15 a.m. on Wednesday at the church. A memorial service will be held in Johnstown for family and friends at a later date.
