Robert J. Lynn

LYNN Robert J. Lynn, age 88, of Upper Arlington, a resident of Westminster-Thurber Community, went home to his Lord on August 15, 2008, at Kobacker House Hospice. He was born August 7, 1920, in Mineral Ridge, Ohio, to Alva and Cora Lynn. Admired Law Professor at The Ohio State University Law School for over 40 years, from 1951-1993. Graduate of OSU College of Business, B.S., 1942; OSU College of Law, J.D., 1948; Yale University Law School, J.S.D., 1952. Member of Beta Alpha Psi, Beta Gamma Sigma, American Bar Association, and the Ohio State Bar Association. Author of several law books. Recipient of the Drinko-Baker Hostetler Chair, 1987-1989. In 2001, the Robert J. Lynn Chair of Law was established in his honor by former student Michael Moritz. Veteran of the U.S Army Air Corps, SSgt., WWII, 1942-1946. Preceded in death by his parents Alva and Cora Lynn, brothers George, James, Raymond, and Charles, sisters Grace and Marion, beloved wife of 53 years, Margaret Mary (Dunnigan) Lynn and their infant twin sons John and Joseph. He is survived by his daughter, Anne Lynn of Alexandria, VA; son and daughter-in-law, James and Maureen Lynn of Upper Arlington, OH; granddaughter, Maria; sister, Marjorie Lynn, Pittsburgh, PA; and several nieces and nephews. Robert will be deeply missed by his family, friends, OSU Law faculty and students for his gentle, warm, caring personality and clever wit. He was an avid reader and walker with a deep appreciation for nature. Visitation will be held from 2-6 p.m. on Sunday at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 1740 Zollinger Road, Upper Arlington, where a prayer service will begin at 5:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, August 18, 2008, at St. Andrew Catholic Church, 1899 McCoy Road at Reed Road, Columbus, OH 43220. Father Michael Watson, Celebrant. Interment to follow at Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the St. Andrew Grade School Library Fund in honor of Robert J.
