Swank Shirley K. Swank. A memorial service for Shirley K. Swank, 90, of Newark, will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 15 at First Church, 88 North Fifth Street, Newark. Inurnment will follow at Newark Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Swank passed away March 2, 2014 in Westerville and born June 7, 1923 in Ft. Wayne, Indiana to the late Wilbur S. and Bessie E. (Scott) Jackson. Mrs. Swank was a member of First United Methodist Church and active in the church choir. She was past-president of the Newark Music and Study Club, which is affiliated with the Ohio and National Federation of Music Clubs; a member of Damenchor, Monday Talks, PEO and a lifetime member of the Order of Eastern Star #305. She is survived by daughter, Leona (Daniel) Fisher of Columbus; son, Lawrence (Cynthia) Swank of Baltimore; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a brother, Homer Jackson of AL. She was preceded in death by husband E. Robert Swank, brother Royal Jackson and sister Helen Lloyd. Friends may call 9:30-11 a.m. prior to the service at the church.
