Stephen Anthony Romanelli

Romanelli Stephen Anthony Romanelli, 18 of Dublin, passed away early Sunday morning from injuries suffered in a tragic automobile accident. Engaging, charming, charismatic, loving, caring, a natural leader, intelligent, "the boy you want your daughter to marry", these words and many more are what are used to describe Stephen. His contagious smile that never seemed to leave him (recognized as the best in the senior class) and radiant spirit were felt throughout the Dublin community and beyond. Stephen received the Ohio Capital Conference Scholar Athlete Award and was a member of the National Honor Society at Dublin Jerome High School where he graduated Summa Cum Laude this past spring. Fielding many offers, he chose his beloved Buckeyes and was to start classes in two weeks at The Ohio State University with plans to study chemical engineering. Stephen had a passion for sports that was ignited as a toddler with family backyard competitions and grew to becoming a multiple year letterman in Football and Baseball at Jerome. The bond he shared with his teammates was always special to him. Even more than his love of sports, Stephen valued the time he could spend with his family and friends. His genuine warmth and compassion put you at ease and made him a cherished friend, brother and son. He loved sharing adventures traveling with his family but could be just as content hanging out with a grandparent absorbing details about his heritage. Stephen's life was too short but he gave us all wonderful memories that we will hold close forever. We love him and will miss him dearly. Stephen is survived by his mother and father, Peggy and Vince Romanelli of Dublin; sisters, Lauren and Danielle of Columbus; grandparents, Lee Romanelli and Mary and Charles Winterfeldt; numerous loving aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandfather Dr. Anthony Romanelli. Family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. WEDNESDAY at ST. BRIGID OF KILDARE CATHOLIC CHURCH, 7179 Avery Road, Dublin, OH 43017 where Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. THURSDAY, AUGUST 8, 2013 with The Reverend Monsignor Joseph M. Hendricks and Deacon Frank Iannarino, Con-celebrants. Burial will follow at Jerome Cemetery, Jerome Township, OH.
