Thomas Francis Bridges

Bridges Thomas Francis Bridges, of Columbus, Ohio, passed away October 17, 2013. Tom was born December 6, 1927 in Akron, Ohio. He graduated from St. Vincent - St. Mary High School and enlisted in the Army. After his retirement as a B & O railroad engineer, he lived the past 35 years in Columbus. Known to all as Uncle Tom, he enjoyed his retirement spending time with family and making friends on long daily walks. He was preceded in death by his parents Charles and Anne Bridges and his sisters Mary Ellen Amos and Jane King. He is survived by brother-in-law, Gene P. King and the following nieces and nephews, Anne King (Phil Georgenson), Dr. G. Paul King (Dr. Karen), Dr. Joan King (Dr. B. J. Pomerants), John King, Tom King (Laura), Susan Ward (Larry), Richard Amos (Kyong Hui), Jane McKenney (Dave), and Charles Amos (Kathy); and many great nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the caregivers at First Community Village and Ohio Health Hospice. A private funeral mass will be held in Our Mother of Sorrows Chapel in St. Joseph Cemetery with burial to immediately follow on October 21, 2013.
