Vaneta Maxine Eckle(1923 - 2014)

Eckle Vaneta Maxine Eckle (George), 90, of Columbus, died peacefully in her sleep, Saturday, January 11, 2014 at Riverside Hospital. Vaneta was born March 26, 1923 in Baltimore, OH to the late Russell and Zona (Conrad) George. She was a member of Burgess Avenue United Methodist Church and then Crossroads United Methodist Church. Vaneta worked for Farm Bureau, Columbus Public Schools and volunteered for Doctor's Hospital. Vaneta and her husband enjoyed square dancing, winters in Florida and were both Red Coats for OSU. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband William, sister Glenna Haver and grandson William Eckle. She is survived by children, Jill Tennant, Jann Herman, William Eckle Jr.and Barbara Holbrook; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Family will receive friends Wednesday, January 15, 2014 from 6-8 p.m. at SCHOEDINGER HILLTOP CHAPEL, 3030 W. Broad St. where a funeral service will be held Thursday, January 16, 2014 at 10 a.m. Interment will follow in Sunset Cemetery. The family would like to thank many individual caregivers at Carriage Court for their loving care and support.
