Velma E. Vizedom Everhart(1916 - 2013)

Everhart Velma E. Vizedom Everhart, age 97, of Columbus, passed away peacefully on September 4, 2013. She was born on May 26, 1916 near Hamilton,Ohio to Jacob and Edna Stewart Vizedom. Velma resided at Westminster Thurber since 1995, and prior to that lived on a farm near Circleville with her late husband, H. M. "Pete" Everhart. Velma received both a B.S. and M.S. in Home Economics from Ohio State University. She began her career teaching high school in New Madison and Columbus. She retired from the Ohio State University, College of Human Ecology, in 1978 as an Associate Professor. Velma is survived by several nieces and nephews, Richard and Rebecca Graham of Xenia, M. Douglas and Cheryl Everhart of Eaton; H.M. "Pete" and Rita Lane of New Carlisle, Kathleen Lane of Omaha, Nebraska, Reed and Jane Montgomery of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, David and Deborah Pierson of Jacksonville, Florida; and numerous great nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, September 13, 2013 at Broad Street Presbyterian Church, 760 E. Broad Street, Columbus. A reception for family and friends will follow. Memorial contributions may be made to Westminster Thurber Life Care, the national office of Phi Upsilon Omicron, Circleville Presbyterian Church or Broad Street Presbyterian Church.
