Wanda June Burwell

BURWELL Wanda June Burwell, 78, of Rodmick St., died October 12, 2007, at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, following complications due to a fall at home. She was born April 21, 1929, in Fullerton, KY, to Cline and Ethel (Martin) Kinney. She married Richard Burwell on August 9, 1952. She taught Vocational Home Economics at Beaver Stockdale Versailles in Mt. Vernon, and retired from teaching Commercial Foods at the Knox Co. Career Center after 30 years of teaching. She enjoyed reading, cooking, and sewing. She was a member of the Mt. Vernon Town Club, where she enjoyed dancing. She was also a member of a Bridge Club and Garden Club. She is survived by her husband, Richard Burwell of Danville; children, Dan (Kelly) Burwell of Mansfield, Betsy Burwell of Mt. Vernon, and Tom Burwell of Columbus; grandchildren, Michelle, Katie, and Michael Burwell, and Louis Kunkle; a brother, Jack (Pat) Kinney of Medina; and a sister, Mary Belle (Andre) Swiger of Blacksburg, VA. She is preceded in death by her parents Cline and Ethel Kinney. There are no funeral services.
