Griesenbrock Wolfgang Josef Griesenbrock, age 87, of Orient, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, March 18, 2014 at his home with his family by his side. Wolfgang was born in Germany on November 17, 1926 to the late Josef and Charlotte (Hattwig) Griesenbrock. At the age of 17, he was drafted in the German military and served during WWII
. He was imprisoned as a POW in Russia. After the war, he earned an Engineering Degree in Essen, Germany. Wolfgang began his career after moving to the United States in 1955 as a Mechanical Engineering consultant. He later worked for Jeffrey Mining. He joined Bob Evans Farms, Inc. as the Director of Restaurant Construction where he retired as a Vice President. He attended St. Mary's Parish in German Village and Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Grove City. Wolfgang was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle. He is survived by loving wife of over 55 years, Hannelore (Schwaemmlein); children, Christa (Mark) McKernan and Gerhard "Gary" (Paula Davitt) Griesenbrock; grandchildren, Tanya (Michael) Bruce, Erin (Gert) Bluschke, Megan, Kevin and Kelly McKernan; great-grandchildren, Stephen and Wolfgang Bruce; sister, Ingeborg Pschibul; special niece, Gertrude (Gerhard) Hutten; along with several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, sister and brother-in-law Hilde and Herman Cilaszyk. Family will receive friends Thursday from 4-7 p.m. at SCHOEDINGER-NORRIS CHAPEL, 3920 Broadway, Grove City. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 a.m. Friday, March 21, 2014 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish, 3730 Broadway, Grove City. Fr. Dan Millisor, Celebrant.
