RAMSEYER John A. Ramseyer, D.D.S., passed away Tuesday, January 27, 2009 at his home with his family present. He was born June 25, 1937 in Bluffton, Oh. to John and Zoa Ramseyer who preceded him in death. He was involved in the private practice of Dentistry from 1963 until 2006 when he joined the Kaufman Dental Group. He was a graduate of University School where he excelled in many sports. He went on to attend The Ohio State University where he was a member of Beta Theta Pi Fraternity and continued into The College of Dentistry where he was a member of Psi Omega Dental Fraternity. He was a member of the American Dental Assn. and Columbus Dental Society, a longtime member of Bexley Whitehall Rotary and a Paul Harris Fellow, The 41 Club, Varsity O, The Columbus Country Club and Central College Church. He is survived by his wife, Peggy; sons, Michael and David Ramseyer; and his daughter, Betsy (John) Stropki. He was grandpa to Lindsay Ramseyer and PawPaw to Emily and Andrew Stropki. Other survivors are his sister, Jeane Allen of San Diego and her son, John; and brother-in-law, Tom (Carol) Morris and their daughter, Alison. He also leaves behind many longtime special friends and patients, and two special gals in his life, the "other woman" Madeline Caulkins and Tammy Lester; also special friend and confidant who helped him in his ten month struggle with cancer, Dr. Nye Larrimer. Visitation 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday, January 29, at SCHOEDINGER NORTHEAST CHAPEL, 1051 E. Johnstown Rd., Gahanna (at Beecher Rd.) Private graveside service at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
