So late in the game for me to even be doing this.....but I owed her more than I could have every repaid. I was truly one of the most fortunate individuals ever....I had Bard for eighth grade and then again at the AP. One of the two greatest educators I ever knew. God gained a mentor when we lost her.......I think of her often.

I just heard the news when I was looking to find Barb to tell her the wonderful impact she had on my life. I am sorry I was too late to tell her in person. She was a great principal/director at Linworth. She will be missed

Barb created a 'home' for the students at Linworth, when some of us desperately needed a safe place to go. She encouraged personal growth, scholarship, and community - ideals that I continue to hold today. I credit Barb for creating a place where we all felt accepted for who we were, and for who we were becoming. She saw the passion and fires inside us and helped us follow our inner paths. She left the world a better place than it was when she came into it. May her light shine on for generations.

Like others have said, Barb was an amazing women, and such a great role model for students at the AP. She changed the lives of so many young people and the good works they have gone on to do are part of her legacy. No one could tell it like it was and build your self esteem like Barb. You are in our thoughts and prayer.

I hope the results of my life can be even half as inspiring as what Barb did with hers. Barb's investment in Linworth will have a positive impact on generations. She had the courage to let us as children become adults on our own, and the wisdom to help guide us. Thank you, Barb. I wish I could have told you in person how wonderful a gift you've given me and so many of my friends.

I remember Barb as a dynamic, wise and fun-loving person. Her door was always open to us students -- not that she spent a lot of time holed up in her office. She was always walking around, talking to us, keeping her finger on the pulse of her school. She made the AP (and the world) a fantastic place to be.

Linworth was a great place to learn, grow and belong and I think Barb had a lot to do with that. She was a tough cookie, but always loving, always helping, always your friend. Thank you Barb for touching so many young lives in such a positive way. God bless!

Barb always believed in me, even when I screwed up. She knew good kids could make bad decisions, and her wisdom and support got me through the most difficult years of my life. She respected young people just as she did adults, and I have never forgotten the care and effort she put into shaping me into the adult I am today.

I never minded getting in trouble with Barb (which I did on occasion) at Linworth. She was always fair and treated me respectfully -- one of my early models for teachers who effectively support their students. I am sad to hear this news, but happy to have her in my life.

Barb was one of the first warm faces to greet me on my first day as a freshman at the AP. I can still picture her glasses on her head, her hands on her hips, checking out the action in the Big Room with a watchful eye and a slight smile. She will be sadly missed. Deepest sympathies to her family and friends.

I was a student at Linworth while Barb was the director. She was a big part of what made Linworth such a great school. When I was sixteen I approached her about graduating early. She sat down with me and had a frank discussion about how young I was & the choices I was making but she did it with respect. She just wanted to make sure my head was in the right place. Once my deciscion was made she supported me 100%. Even though that was 20 years ago I am still thankful for her taking the time to talk to me. There is no doubt that she really cared about the students attending her school & we were fortunate to have her in our lives. Thank you Barb, for everything.

It was an honor knowing Barb for the 4 years I did in high school. She was wonderful and caring and a friend to a lot of students, myself included. She made my teen years in high school bearable and made sure I stayed on track and talked with me when I needed a friendly voice and a shoulder to lean on. She was an awesome lady and heaven sure is lucky to have a great angel up there to help out. My thoughts and prayers are with your family at this time, I'm sure she will be missed by many.

Barb, knowing how wild my friends and I were at Linworth, and your sublime patience through it all, you have truly earned your place among the saints. Have a well earned rest in peace.
