Tiberi, Caterina
Caterina (Rina) Tiberi, passed away at Kobacker House on Monday, September 18, 2017 at the age of 80, with her family by her side, after a brief battle with Leukemia. Born in Cantone di Introdacqua, AQ, Italy on July 31, 1937. She is preceded in death by her parents Giuseppe and Flora Silvestri, of Italy and twin daughters who passed away just after birth. Survived by her loving husband of nearly 58 years, Giuseppe "Joe"; and beloved mother of Patrick (Denice), Ida (Tim) Shook, and Tania Wade; grandchildren, Anthony and Alex Shook, Angelina, Cristina, Daniela, and Gabriela Tiberi; brothers and sisters in Italy, Felice (Marcella) Silvestri, Rosina (Giacinto) Di Matteo, Gabriele (Rina) Silvestri; in-laws, Dilia Silvestri, Gildo Tiberi, Ida Frissora, Tonino (Anna) Tiberi, and Loreta Giammarco; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends in the U.S., Italy and Canada. Rina was a longtime member of St. John the Baptist Italian Catholic Church, member of Amici D'Oro, Le Donne, The Abruzzi Club, and S.F.I., and was a retired seamstress. She enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening, sewing and spending time with friends and family. Friends may call Friday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the MAEDER-QUINT-TIBERI Funeral Home, 1068 S. High St. Prayer service at 7:45 p/m. Family and friends will meet for Mass of Christian Burial 10 a.m. Saturday at St. John the Baptist Italian Catholic Church, 720 Hamlet Street. Private entombment will be held a later date. The family would like to thank the staff at OSU James Cancer Hospital, Kobacker House and Dr. Randy Wexler for their care, and a special thank you to Bonnie Burman for her support and friendship. Memorial contributions may be made to The Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital and Richard J. Solove Research Institute at The Ohio State University. To Pat and Denice and Ida and Tim and Tania. I just heard about your mom. I am very sorry for the loss of your mom. I was watching the special about Alzheimer and saw Pat. Have a lot of fond memories of your mom. Actually the whole family growing up. Your mom was a wonderful cook. Still remember how good her pizza and cookies were. May the memories of your mom bring peace to you this holiday season. My prayers are with all of you. And with your dad as he faces the challenges ahead of him. God bless all of you.

Oh, so sad to read this. I adored Mrs. Tiberi. She always greeted me with a kiss and squeeze of the hand. What a great lady who loved, loved, loved her family, and made amazing pizzelles! My condolences Mr. Tiberi, Pat, and the rest of the family.
