Wilbur Edward Moore

MOORE Wilbur Edward Moore, 86, of Zanesville, died at 11:10 a.m. Sunday, August 1, 2010 at the Willow Haven Care Center. He was born February 3, 1924, in Zanesville, a son of the late Wilbur and Rose Fritz Moore. He retired in 1984 as a printer for the Columbus Dispatch Newspaper. He was a member of the First Christian Church Disciples of Christ and a United States Army World War II Veteran. He was an avid outdoors man and golfer. Surviving is his second wife, Helen Merriam Moore of the home; two daughters, Theresa (William) Berkhemer of Columbus, Ohio and Debbie (Richard) Hughes of Grove City, Ohio; four grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife Shirley J. Hilderbrand, who died July 26, 1989, a son Michael E. Moore, who died in 2007, two sisters Hazel Dick and Lou Wallace and two grandchildren. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, August 3, 2010 at the BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME, 1271 Blue Ave., Zanesville. Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, August 4, 2010 at the funeral home with Rev. Dawn Remster officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery.
